Where to Find a Conference that Rocks Virtual and Augmented Reality

Finding Inspiration in the World of Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality

Within the world of Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality, the opportunity to network and find inspiration from others creating immersive 3D configurations and visualizations is highly sought-after. Whether you are looking for events, meet-ups or webinars on VR/AR in Pittsburgh or abroad, it’s helpful to know which ones may truly be worth your time to attend.

One of the teams I work with at OpenArc is responsible for developing custom VR experiences in our Pittsburgh office and they have shared with me an event that’s worthy of your attention, the Vision Summit VR/AR Summit. As described by the conference itself, “The Vision VR/AR Summit is an event for artists, engineers, programmers, designers, musicians, directors, producers, hardware manufacturers and researchers. The content and networking are focused on furthering the knowledge base of anyone developing virtual and/or augmented reality content in Unity.”

The Vision VR/AR Summit organizers have shared that over 1500 attended the conference this past spring, with 121 speakers and 32 new areas of XR experiences. From over 18 countries, these attendees range from professional developers, to enthusiasts, to marketers with one thing in common, they’re passionate about transforming customer interactions through the immersive experiences offered by Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality solutions.

The conference website has two video recordings available for viewing on-demand. One is the highlight video that walks you through the VR/AR content and introduces the high-profile speakers including, John Riccitiello, CEO of Unity Technologies and Rachel Franklin, Head of Social VR at Facebook.

The second video is a recording of the Vision VR/AR Summit keynote with the keynote speaker, John Riccitiello talking about the dawn of the age ahead of us is unlike anything we’ve ever seen. He details the steady progression from desktops to VR/AR experiences and the adoption and value predicted through 2023 and the precedent conditions.

At this point, I am ready to sign up to attend this VR/AR conference myself, but I have yet to find details about the 2018 event or venue. Subscribe to our blog and be on the lookout for more insight from OpenArc into upcoming VR/AR conferences including the 2018 Vision VR/AR conference, once it’s announced.
