Prepping and serving meals to behavioral health clients in a residential facility requires deep empathy and rigorous safety training. When Milestone realized traditional group lectures weren't giving caregivers a true sense of the role's real-world stamina, they sought a better alternative. They needed a way to prepare staff for high-consequence scenarios before entering the kitchen.

They partnered with OpenArc to build a custom Virtual Reality training module on the wireless Oculus Quest. Our VR software development team created a realistic simulation that guides caregivers through precise food preparation steps for clients with swallowing disorders.

We built in real-world variables, including immediate feedback for improper actions, chaotic workplace distractions, and emergency 911 protocols. Moving from static lectures to immersive VR software has increased staff knowledge retention and reduced high-consequence client incidents.
