Manufacturing environments are complex, and training mistakes carry high costs—from wasted raw materials to serious workplace injuries. Arconic wanted a safer, more effective onboarding process. They realized traditional classroom training wasn't enough, turning to Virtual Reality to give new hires hands-on experience before stepping onto the plant floor.

OpenArc’s VR engineering team stepped in to design and build a custom virtual reality training curriculum from scratch. Starting directly from Arconic’s CAD files, we used Blender, Unity, and HTC Vive hardware to develop two fully immersive, interactive training scenarios replicating real factory operations.

Arconic now has a cutting-edge workforce development tool. Employees can master complex machinery in a 100% safe digital environment, reducing raw material waste and keeping teams safer on the job.
