List the first three things a technical career advisor does before 9 am Mon- -Friday.
- Wake up and have a cup of Tea/Coffee. Listen to music to get prepared for the day. And check emails to get on track for the day.
Name a resume faux pas you see regularly?
- The two biggest mistakes I see on typical Software Engineer resume is: 1. Not having a Technical Skill Section or 2. Not explaining the actual hands-on experience if there are technical skills listed.
What are the biggest misconceptions people having about working with recruiters?
- The biggest misconceptions about recruiters are that we do not care about what you are looking for in a job/career. And that all recruiters are not transparent. Here at OpenArc, the main goal is to be open with every candidate throughout the interview process
What is the most significant piece of advice you have for a software developer looking for a new career or gig right now in Pittsburgh?
- The best advice I can give a Software Developer looking for a career is to find out what are the intangible things outside of the tech skillset that you are you looking for in a job and try to make sure that the job you are looking for meets that criteria because that will make you enjoy going into work every day.
What’s the last book you read or show you binged on Netflix?
- The last thing that I binged on Netflix was Ozark. It is my favorite show by far.
